Club History

Horsforth Harriers were formed in 1985 by a small group of runners some of whom are still members of the club. Since then the club has steadily grown until we now have approximately 120 adult members.

We are primarily a road running club and our members take part in races from 5k through to marathon and beyond. There are also members who take part in cross country, fell and trail races.

We participate in two cross country leagues in the winter months and usually send runners to regional and national championships. We are not an “elite” club and there is no compulsion to take part in races or events.

Every year Horsforth Harriers arranges and hosts the Horsforth 10k and the Apperley Bridge Canter, both of which attract runners from clubs across Yorkshire and also unattached runners.
